Confusion

We have had a very mild winter this year (really non-existent) and our plants are in a state of confusion.

Knockout tree roses purchased from Costco.

Who would know this is February.

For a woman who has worn a pony tail/bun her entire life, I have developed very few hair styling skills. However about six months ago I purchased a curling iron, learned how to use it and eventually relegated my old hot rollers to a bottom drawer. A month ago as I was preparing for school, curling my hair, I looked up and my hair was literally smoking. I totally freaked out---and yes my hair had turned orange, smelled like a burned dog and broke off! I immediately called my hairdresser and had layers cut in the back. You would think I would eliminate the curling iron from my regimen but no---I thought maybe I had the heat up too high, or that my hair was too dry--or maybe it was the styling product---or---who knows--surely it would never happen again. But yes, it did happen again, and yes I have now thrown it away, and yes I have retrieved my old hot rollers from the bottom drawer.

Josie calls us the "I-Family"

Yesterday was Super Bowl XLVI and we celebrated the event with family. This is a tradition that we have been observing for as long as I have been married. The Stevens family did not even acknowledge that football teams existed. We would occasionally see games on TV at my Aunt Jo's house and I believe that my parents thought that was pretty low class, but then again we did not even own a TV until I was in junior high. I am digressing in my post......Anyway, we all gathered, tuned in every TV, we ate, we laughed, but as you can see from these photos no one was paying very close attention. I should say the only exception was Parker who loves football. He reminds me of Jonah, Josh and Luke who also loved football.

We have four TV's in this house(60", 42", 40", 20") but everyone wanted to watch this ancient TV that Sarah said is just like the one on the Instagram app.
