Today as a special treat for my fourth and fifth graders we had poetry and popcorn in the library. I pulled all of the poetry books off the shelf, put them on carts, and let students pick and choose their favorites to read with a friend--they also got to have popcorn. The AMC Willowbrook Theatre donated two huge bags of popcorn. I had done something similar in the spring with poetry and puzzles--another hit with children.
What a treat!!! I too, love poetry and popcorn.....messy though. Do you have a vacuum in the library or do you have a special relationship with the custodian? The custodian and the secretary are your two most important allies in a school. Nice to have you back on board.

Glad to see your post. We never even had a friendly word from that librarian at Memorial High School. Remember, that put carpet in there and would hardly let you come in for a book lest you mess up the carpet. It was green.

I'm so glad to see you back to blogging. I really shouldn't talk since I tend to blog about once a month. However, I look forward to reading yours every morning and have missed your updates. I could go for a little of that popcorn as well as a nice poetry book.
