Thursday morning Carl and I went fishing on Lake Belton with a professional fish guide.  We meet in the parking lot at 6:30 AM, the fish were biting and we were back in the parking lot by 8:30 AM with ten fish cleaned and filleted.  We enjoyed the water and beautiful weather.

We witnessed a version of speed fishing--twelve rods into the water at one time.  Needless to say Carl and our guide were really jumping to man all of the rods.

New Hummingbird Feeder

When Sam and Parker were in Lampasas we bought more bird seed and a new hummingbird feeder.  The little birds love it!

These pictures are taken through the screen from the back porch.  I just wish they would let me open the door and snap a better picture.

Swings

Going to Paula and Raymond's ranch is always a bitter sweet time for me.  My mother loved them so much, and her roots were deep into this soil, and so visiting reminds me of her.  Anyway, as we were checking out the bulls, tractors, etc. -- we rounded the corner and there it sat--the swings from my childhood.  I had completely forgotten about them.  I am sure that Sam, my brother had brought them up to the ranch years ago when he was cowboy-ing.  My father had constructed them out of galvanized pipe--and there they stood--sixty five years later.

It doesn't take much to keep these two happy.
